It’s the end of the year, and the whole world is in the process of clearing the decks and getting ready for 2023. Or at least it feels like it. For lots of people, that means doing a year in review and setting goals for the next 12 months.
I have a confession: I have never done this. Not once. Until now.
This fall, I started having coffee (or tacos!) regularly with my friend Keith Meatto, who I met in a writing workshop more than 20 years ago. Keith showed up to our meeting LAST WEEK on December 2 - Keith! - with his 2022 Year in Review and his 2023 goals.
Keith writes every day, friends. Every day. And he has for years. He also teaches, exercises, spends time with his family, learns, and likes to go out. There’s discipline, yes, but also awareness. And the year in review.
And so, with his permission, I am going to copy his format and begin by making a simple list of everything I did last year. I am going to start by taking inventory.
I’ll post the results in the next several weeks. His (rough) format is below if you want to give it a spin. And if you do your own year in review, share it. I can’t wait to see.
